« …Something Wicked This Way Comes! »: Angel rejoins the X-Men but struggles to adjust, nearly causing a fatal Danger Room accident, while Kitty Pryde also finds settling in difficult. Wolverine heads to Canada with Nightcrawler in tow to resolve his legal status, reuniting warmly with old friend Heather Hudson, whose husband Vindicator is investigating a dangerous creature near Hudson Bay alongside Snowbird and Shaman. Wolverine and Nightcrawler join the search and identify the culprit as a Wendigo, hopeful that a missing mother and daughter may still be alive. While gathering supplies, Nightcrawler pauses to mourn Phoenix at sunset, only to be suddenly confronted by the creature itself.
