Dans ce numéro

« Holy War, Part 2 of 2 »: The dying Father Whitney confesses he was part of a Church of Humanity scheme to manipulate Nightcrawler, and the X-Men storm the Church’s base, battling illusions before finding a captive priest who reveals the plot: install Nightcrawler as Pope, unmask him as a demon, then trigger a false Rapture to turn the world from Christianity toward the Church. Polaris kills several members over Cyclops’ objections as Phoenix disables their psychic saboteur. The Church’s Pope battles the team directly until Nightcrawler unmasks her as a former nun seeking revenge for past abuse; she detonates her equipment but the X-Men survive, and Nightcrawler reflects that his crisis of faith inadvertently exposed the plot.
