« Raiders of the Lost Temple! »: Kulan Gath’s forces cut down Rogue and enslave Starfox and Wasp as the heroes storm his palace, only to be captured themselves. A tortured Spider-Man breaks free and identifies Gath’s necklace as the source of his magic, and with Warlock translating for the non-English-speaking Storm, the two seize it. Selene, disguised as Magma, steals it for herself, but Warlock and Storm infect her with his techno-organic virus, neutralizing the threat. Dr. Strange combines his magic with Magik’s time powers to unwind the entire spell — inadvertently drawing the time-traveling hunter Nimrod to this era, who concludes upon sensing mutants nearby that they must be destroyed. Key issue: First appearance of Nimrod II (Sentinel from Rachel Summers’ alternate timeline).
