« What Happened to Kitty? »: Kitty wakes to find the Morlocks preparing her for a forced marriage, while Wolverine realizes the « jumper » wasn’t really her at all. Callisto reveals that the Morlocks staged a substitution using an altered corpse and reminds Kitty of her earlier promise to stay with Caliban in exchange for his aid healing Colossus. Though she initially flees in horror, Kitty returns to honor her word and pleads for the Morlock Healer’s help. The X-Men and Morlocks briefly clash before Kitty calls a truce, and Rogue and the Healer combine their powers to restore Colossus. Ultimately, Caliban, realizing Kitty doesn’t love him and doesn’t belong underground, releases her from her promise. Key issue: First appearance of Leech (Morlock).
