« When Strikes the Squadron Sinister »: Joined by Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Goliath face the members of the Squadron Sinister at assigned battle sites. Captain America stops Nighthawk from destroying the Statue of Liberty, Iron Man bests Dr. Spectrum and his sentient Power Prism near the Taj Mahal, and Thor defeats the super-strong Hyperion beside the Sphinx. In London, Goliath battles the fast-moving Whizzer, but his victory is spoiled by the unwitting intervention of the Black Knight. The Grandmaster declares the contest a stalemate and returns the combatants to the future, leaving a worried Black Knight to ponder the consequences.
