« The World According to the Adaptoid »: The cosmic-powered Adaptoid imprisons Machine Man and the Avengers, banishes Kubik to another galaxy, and starts replicating himself into an android army. The heroes’ escape attempt fails, and Dr. Druid and the Black Knight join them in captivity. Kubik easily returns to Earth and alerts the former Captain America. The Captain defeats a replicate copying his abilities, then battles the Adaptoid itself in his own form. Shaken by Dr. Druid’s argument that he cannot adapt human imagination and by Cap’s claim that he cannot understand life because he cannot die, the Super-Adaptoid self-destructs. Kubik frees the Avengers and removes the android’s adapting powers.
