« And Now … Starfox! »: Captain Marvel becomes a full-fledged Avenger replacing Iron Man, and Eros, taking the codename Starfox, becomes a provisional member replacing Hawkeye, who has a broken leg. Starfox, Thor, and Captain Marvel help the Navy track the Plantman’s submarine, battling giant animated kelp and ripping through the ship’s defenses. The Plantman escapes in a metal sphere supplied by his silent partner, the Wizard, and the Avengers must rescue him from orbit before his oxygen runs out. Captain America and the Wasp find a drunken Tony Stark and learn he has succumbed to alcoholism and allowed another man to replace him as Iron Man. Later, the Wasp and the She-Hulk encounter an invisible barrier in midtown Manhattan.
