« Slowly Slays the Stinger »: The Stinger, a mysterious foe out to destroy the Avengers, captures the Black Panther. At the Natural History Museum, Bloodhawk, a strange avian being, fails to steal a totem from the island of Maura. His teacher explains that the genetics experiments of Bloodhawk’s father caused his mutant form and periodic bouts of insanity, and that the totem protects Maura from supernatural harm. Thor, the Vision, and the Beast accompany Bloodhawk and Teacher back to Maura, where a gigantic stone figure menaces the island, while their teammates in New York are attacked by the Stinger.
