« The Web Closes! »: Captain Stacy points Spider-Man to the Shocker’s ex-girlfriend, whose apartment Man-Mountain Marko is tearing apart until he finds the tablet in a hidden wall safe. Marko tosses the girl out the window, forcing Spidey to rescue her, and escapes. Maggia lawyer Caesar Cicero bails out Wilson and brings him to Silvermane. At the Bugle, Robertson threatens to quit rather than distort the news, and Jameson backs down as Randy looks on. Peter calls Curt Connors about a summer job, only to learn he has left with two men; Connors is delivered to Silvermane, fearing he could become the Lizard at any time. Key issue: First appearance of Silvermane, Man Mountain Marko and Caesar Cicero of the Maggia.
