Uncanny X-Men #407

« Gläubiger, Heiler, Gefallener »: Nightcrawler wakes from a nightmare of crucifixions and the Supreme Pontiff to find himself sheltered by an old circus friend, Feuer Langhagen, in the Bavarian mountains, having blindly teleported there with Chamber when the X-Wing exploded. Bitter about the costs of being an X-Man, he delays contacting the team, frustrating Chamber, whom he’d previously lectured about responsibility. Chamber reaches Stacy X telepathically, and Archangel — overseeing X-Corps’ dismantling — only believes it once Phoenix confirms via Cerebra. As Nightcrawler confides his doubts to Feuer and Chamber, the team arrives to retrieve them; he reluctantly rejoins them, envying his friend’s simple, secluded life.
