Uncanny X-Men #192

« Fun ‘n’ Games! »: A massive light crashes near the mansion as several X-Men wait at the airport for Wolverine and Kitty’s return from Japan, where Kitty is startled to realize Rachel remembers her from a shared future encounter. The light is Warlock’s powerful, hostile father, Magus, and though the team struggles against him, Rogue’s attempt to absorb his power briefly transforms her into a techno-organic being that helps drain and repel him. Nightcrawler’s teleport trick inflicts enough damage to drive him off, and Magus lurks nearby, plotting revenge against his son. Months later, after a lecture at Columbia University, Professor X is savagely beaten by anti-mutant students and dragged into a nearby alley by an unseen figure. Key issue: Nightcrawler becomes deputy leader of the X-Men.
