« Trust Is a Two-Edged Sword »: Caliban kidnaps Jubilee to trade her for Sabretooth, whom the X-Men are harboring, and insists that Shadowcat deliver the captive. Xavier sends Shadowcat and a shackled Sabretooth into the tunnels, where Caliban traps them in a flooding room. Fleeing into a part of the tunnels the Morlocks avoided, they face a giant octopus; Caliban helps Shadowcat and Sabretooth attacks the creature, then tricks Shadowcat into phasing him free and turns on Caliban before being stunned and re-shackled. Caliban slips away, his scarred face marking the death of the last Morlock and the birth of the first Hound. Also: « And Nothing Will Ever Be the Same », Bishop reflects on his past.
