Former New Mutants Cannonball, Karma and Dani Moonstar are called in to help capture the fleeing, mentally lashing Empath, whose amplified powers easily overwhelm the pursuing team. Ignoring Beast’s warnings, Pixie confronts Empath directly and, channeling her rage through her soul-dagger, beats him savagely. Elsewhere, Cyclops and Emma search the Cult’s abandoned S&M-club base, where Emma appears to telepathically seduce him, though she later has no memory of it. The Red Queen recruits the mercenary Chimera to her growing Sisterhood, and at a Dazzler concert, Cyclops spots a shocking face in the crowd: his dead ex-wife, Madelyne Pryor.
