Uncanny X-Men #449

« To Slay a Queen »: Viper flees, leaving Bishop and Marvel Girl to face soldiers who turn out to be real, not android; the revived Sage’s badge convinces them to stand down. « Sage » is actually an image-inducer-disguised Wolverine, who’d recognized Viper earlier, while a depowered Nightcrawler and Storm bluff past an anti-mutant mob. Viper, hired to assassinate bank director Courtney Ross, instead strikes a deal with her, and the team regroups at the London Eye, where a hostage and a bomb force a coordinated rescue that destroys the wheel’s compartment before it can detonate. Elsewhere, Sebastian Shaw meets Ross and Viper to plot the Hellfire Club’s revival, unaware Sage is watching from nearby.
