Uncanny X-Men #313

« Hands Across the Water »: Gambit blows up the pursuing Phalanx gestalt in the Hudson River and pulls Yukio from drowning, while at the mansion the Beast puzzles over why Iceman’s powers seem to be relearning themselves. Banshee, watching Jubilee worry over the crisis, thinks the team needs someone dedicated to looking after its youngest members. At the docks, Storm learns the Phalanx are humans who chose to merge with the Transmode Virus to wipe out mutants, and watches their controller battle the will of an assimilated Doug Ramsey. Gambit and Storm destroy the gestalt with a ship’s anchor, though Storm senses it will return; back home, a hostile Iceman awakens under Emma Frost’s control.
