« The Last Morlock Story! »: The X-Men find Mikhail Rasputin among the deranged Morlocks, planning to lead them into death by flooding the tunnels with river water to end their suffering. Jean confronts Archangel about his responsibility for his wings’ recent destruction, urging him to take charge of his life. Callisto attacks Professor X and is defeated, and Colossus fails to reason with Mikhail, who insists on ending the Morlocks’ misery himself. Mikhail telekinetically removes the X-Men from the flooding tunnels, seemingly sacrificing himself and the Morlocks. Afterward, Peter calls his sister Illyana to say he’ll be delayed, tearfully unable to explain why, as Jean and Bishop comfort him and Storm.
