Uncanny X-Men #172

« Scarlet in Glory »: The X-Men gather in Japan for Wolverine’s wedding to Mariko Yashida, unaware that her half-brother the Silver Samurai and the assassin Viper are plotting against her — Viper poisons the team’s tea while scheming to force Mariko’s abdication. In Alaska, Cyclops discovers Madelyne’s plane crash occurred at the exact moment of Phoenix’s death. In Japan, Wolverine’s friend Yukio impersonates Mariko for a tense meeting that erupts into violence, and an unpoisoned Storm helps drive off the villains, though she’s unsettled to see the resulting flames take the shape of the Phoenix firebird. Wolverine and Rogue, immune to the poison, set off to hunt down Viper and the Samurai.
