At the mansion, Cyclops chides the team’s poor Danger Room performance, while Magneto, recovering on Asteroid M, is haunted by a computer image of his lost wife. In Scotland, Jason Wyngarde muses over his progress seducing Phoenix. After Lilandra’s coronation, a worried Professor X reviews files on Phoenix’s power and heads home. On Muir Island, Phoenix experiences a strange « timeslip » before being attacked by the mysterious Mutant X, who then assaults Polaris as Cyclops listens helplessly over the phone.
