« Superman Goes to War! »: Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen are transported into a war zone, where Superman has to protect his friends without revealing his secret identity. Supergirl guests, and the Zhorians and a Hollywood producer named Mr. Haller also appear. Also: « The Last Days of Ma and Pa Kent! », in which Superman recalls how, as Superboy, he sent his adoptive parents on a Caribbean cruise where they caught a fever plague he could not cure. Key issue: Flashback story « The Last Days of Ma and Pa Kent! » depicting the deaths of Jonathan and Martha Kent in pre-Crisis continuity.
