DEFENDERS (1972) #44

The Defenders split up to look for the missing Doctor Strange! After some standard Hulk-battling-heroes hijinks, Hulk, Nighthawk, Luke Cage, and Valkyrie decide to go looking for the missing Doctor Strange. Red Guardian tips them off that he went to see the mystic Omar Karindu. Cake, Hulk, and Nighthawk go off to find Strange, while Valkyrie stays with Red Guardian, who is trying to decide whether to return to the USSR. Val also has a run-in with her host body’s husband, Jack Norriss, who still loves her. Hellcat then pops up; she has been training with Moondragon on Titan, but Moondragon sensed a dire threat to Earth and sent Patsy back to warn the Avengers and Strange.…
