With the mutated plant creatures inching closer to infecting the world, will the Defenders be able to uproot this ever-growing problem? Chris Larmouth, a pilot for the Defenders who has always wanted to be a super-hero, is attacked by the irradiated spores that originally came from Ephraim Soles. Beast and Iceman see it on the security cameras, and rush to his aid, putting him on ice so he doesn’t die. Nearby, some farmers see other strange human/plant animal hybrids riding the range, and hide in fear. The plants around the Defenders’ base grow at an astonishing rate, and take on grotesque humanoid features. Beast and Bobby flee inside.…
