« Twilight of the Gods »: Dr. Druid stops Hercules from crushing his former teammates by forcing him to relive his final battle with the Masters of Evil. The Black Knight turns Zeus’s own thunderbolts back on him with his ebony blade, and the Sub-Mariner, the She-Hulk, and Thor’s hammer pound the Lord of Olympus, who still rises to overcome them all. When a new combatant tries to stop him from killing Thor, Zeus smashes him before realizing it is a recovered Hercules. Humbled by his son’s account of the Avengers’ innocence, Zeus decrees that no Olympian shall ever again set foot on Earth, and Prometheus sends the heroes home.
