« The Resurrection Stone »: The Beast renews his romance with Vera Cantor, who is seemingly killed at Avengers Mansion by a poisoned cup of tea served by a Skrull disguised as Jarvis. The Skrull offers to restore her if the Avengers retrieve the Resurrection Stone, split in two and hurled into Earth’s past. Using Reed Richards’s time-machine, the Vision, the Scarlet Witch, and Wonder Man join the Beast in the era of the Black Death, facing a mad child named Devlunn, then in 1945 Dachau, where a death camp survivor has reanimated his family. The Beast crushes the corrupting stone, the Skrull is subdued, and Mr. Fantastic places the comatose Vera in suspended animation.
