« The Hobgoblin Revealed! »: Jason Macendale hires the Foreigner to kill the Hobgoblin. Ned’s coffin arrives from Europe, and Betty has a mental breakdown at his funeral. The Kingpin gives Spidey his Hobgoblin dossier, revealing that Ned was the Hobgoblin and that Macendale, the former Jack O’Lantern, has assumed the guise. The new Hobgoblin attacks Spidey at Foreigner’s Import office and destroys the dossier, but Flash catches a pumpkin bomb and throws it back, getting caught in the blast. Spidey saves him with CPR, and with witnesses seeing Flash and Hobgoblin together, the charge against Flash is dropped. The Kingpin explodes his elevator with Foreigner inside. Inspired by Flash, Peter decides to accept his responsibility. Key issue: The Hobgoblin is revealed as Ned Leeds; Jason Macendale becomes the new Hobgoblin.
