“AESOP’S MODERN FABLES.” An escaped prisoner named Johnny Aesop, ribbed when he was younger about his last name, decides to commit crimes based on the ancient fables to gain wealth and notoriety. Superman: Thief Johnny Aesop breaks out of jail and plans a series of crimes based on the morals from Aesop’s fables. Before each crime, he sends a cryptic message to the Planet. His first crime involves rigging a boat race so the boat he bets on will win, but Superman manages to foil the plot and capture three of Aesop’s men. For his second crime, he steals a priceless objet d’art from a mansion.…
