Uncanny X-Men #409

« Rocktopia, Part 8 of 5 »: As Archangel’s corporate sleuthing starts to pay off despite Wolverine’s skepticism, Stacy X approaches Vanisher with a franchising pitch as a ruse to get close to him. Nightcrawler confronts a drug-using Cardinal about the overdosed teens, who transforms into a rock giant and attacks — only for the Church of Humanity to kill him and spare Nightcrawler, hinting the Supreme Pontiff has plans for him. Stacy later releases a chemically controlled Vanisher and sends him to Archangel, who reveals Worthington Industries bought out his drug business by paying off his lieutenants. Vanisher’s last loyal men overdose and attack, but Iceman freezes them and captures Vanisher mid-teleport as Wolverine comforts the brooding Nightcrawler.
