Uncanny X-Men #196

« What Was That?!! »: At Columbia University, Professor X telepathically overhears someone plotting a murder but can’t identify the source. In Kenya, Storm is shot and left for dead by hunters she confronted earlier. As Professor X shares his discovery with the team and their uneasy new ally Magneto, Rachel has a strange vision and Nightcrawler admits his faith has been shaken by recent cosmic events. Kitty uncovers that a group of Professor X’s own students were behind his earlier beating and are targeting her next; in the ensuing clash, an enraged Rachel nearly kills the ringleader before Magneto talks her down from repeating his own past mistakes, though she erases the students’ memories of the incident.
