« Lifedeath »: Wracked with guilt, Forge takes the newly depowered Storm to his home to help her recover from her deep depression. Learning that his hand and leg are prosthetic gives them common ground, and a quiet spark of romance begins to grow between them. Unable to locate Storm through Cerebro, Rogue is forced to save Val Cooper from attacking Dire Wraiths to learn her whereabouts. As Forge and Storm share a drink, a call from Gyrich reveals his hidden role in creating the device that took her powers. Feeling deeply betrayed, Storm flees his holographic sanctuary, and Forge’s attempts to explain himself ring hollow as she walks away, alone. Key issue: ‘Lifedeath’ by Barry Windsor-Smith, 48-page giant; powerless Ororo taken in by Forge.
