Uncanny X-Men #160

« Chutes and Ladders! »: A sinister presence lures Illyana into a darkened building on the X-Men’s island, and the team is scattered by mysterious « stepping disks » when they follow. Kitty finds herself in a demonic realm ruled by the sorcerer Belasco, who marks Illyana as his future apprentice with a cursed medallion. Aided by a mysterious hooded woman, the team drives Belasco off, only to learn their rescuer is an older, alternate version of Storm, warning that her own X-Men suffered the same fate. She holds the demons at bay long enough to send the team home — but Illyana emerges from the portal years older than she left, having spent seven years trapped in limbo. Key issue: First appearance of Storm II, Nightcrawler II and S’ym; Illyana ages seven years in Belasco’s Limbo (becomes Magik).
