« Pursuit! »: The Starjammer rescues the X-Men before police can arrest them, and ship’s medic Sikorsky saves the dying Colossus. Aboard the Shi’ar flagship, Admiral Samédàr taunts Kitty and Nightcrawler with footage of Colossus’s injury while secretly reporting to Deathbird. Meanwhile, Corsair reveals the story behind his decades-long separation from Cyclops, and Professor X wakes in Lilandra’s cell to learn Deathbird is her exiled sister. The Starjammer catches up with Deathbird’s vessel, but both ships are swallowed by an enormous living creature called an Acanti, forcing the X-Men and Starjammers to fight through its interior to rescue Professor X and Lilandra — only to find their damaged ship unable to reach Earth before the deadline. Key issue: First appearance of Sikorsky (Starjammers physician) and an Acanti.
