Avengers #306

« There Is a Fire Down Below »: A defeated Sub-Mariner joins his teammates in their stone prison, but the Avengers break free and find themselves deep beneath the Earth’s surface, facing Jinku, the Lava Men’s witch doctor. He tells how their god Cha’sa’dra joined an assault on the surface world and died in battle, dooming the Lava Men, of whom Jinku is the last. The vengeful witch doctor refuses to believe the Avengers’ claim that Cha’sa’dra was only a minor demon who tricked the Lava Men into worshipping him, and he unleashes a giant lava monster against the heroes.
