« Salvation »: As Nimrod attacks the X-Men and Hellfire Club, a dying Phoenix lies nearby. Nimrod shrugs off attacks and vaporizes the Black Rook, forcing Selene’s Inner Circle to join forces with the X-Men. Nightcrawler’s teleport attempt fails against Nimrod’s countermeasures and he vanishes screaming. Colossus and Shadowcat damage Nimrod enough for Selene to bind him, and the dying Black Bishop smashes him with the falling Black King. Wolverine moves for the kill, but Nimrod teleports away. Meanwhile Phoenix, distracted by the sudden appearance of the Body Shoppe, is offered a new life she can’t refuse — and its owner reveals herself, gloating, to be Spiral. Key issue: Black Rook and Black Bishop of the Hellfire Club die.
