« Sandman: Year One »: Written by Peter David with art by Ronan Cliquet and Rob Stull, this story looks at the early life of William Baker, the future Sandman. It follows him from boyhood building sand sculptures on the beach, with a mother who drinks and an absent father, through school bullying and the moment he decides to make himself strong, on the path toward becoming a villain. Spider-Man appears in the framing. Also: « Leah », a six-page back-up by Peter David and Colleen Doran in which a homeless girl dreams of Spider-Man, inspired by fan artist Leah Adezio.
