UNCANNY X-MEN (1963) #64

Cerebro detects a new mutant and the X-Men arrive in time to see Sunfire destroy a monument that Japanese dignitary Mr. Yoshida had just dedicated. Iceman, Beast and Angel fight him, but he manages to escape, after seriously injuring Beast. Sunfire returns to his hotel where his uncle reminds him of how the US destroyed Hiroshima with the nuclear bomb, causing his mother to die after giving birth to him. The nuclear blast was what gave Shiro mutant powers. Shiro has sworn that he would make the Americans pay for what they did to his country and family.…
